University of the Pacific’s Conservatory School has students perform recitals. Karen and Alison asked me to create their promotional materials: poster, Facebook event cover photo, and Instagram post. Both clients were interested in my organic, handwritten technique, so I found a way to apply it to each client’s needs.

In Karen’s case, she provided me with the image, so I drew inspiration from her ethereal scenery and pose. The lines framing the poster and running off from the text mimic the violin strings. The colors are picked up from Karen’s clothes.

In Alison’s case, we had a photography session, so I had full control over her pose and the image I could use in the final poster. Alison has a vibrant and lively personality, leading to my choice of her action shot paired with text that is dancing around her (mimicking the movement of her hair).
