I worked with a partner to create the branding for a product designed by the Masters program Engineering students. The product is burn over protection, meant for firefighters working in conditions where the wind changes and they need immediate shelter. The name “Aegiis” comes from “aegis”, the Greek God Zeus’s shield. It has come to be a synonym for protection and support. We added another “i” to avoid any copyright issues. The design focuses on the idea of safety from fire as well as accessibility, mobility, and action; all appealing to needs of fire department heads efficiently communicating directions in training and firefighters effectively using the product in the field.
